Rev. Martin Chambers, a native of Ballbofey, was ordained to the Priesthood for service in the Diocese of Raphoe, by Most Rev. Dr Philip Boyce, OCD., Bishop of Raphoe, in St Eunan's Cathedral on Sunday 29th June 2003.  Fr Martin studied for the priesthood in St Patrick's College, Thurles, and in St Patrick's College, Maynooth.  The ordination was attened by all of Fr Martin's family and by over thirty priests, mostly from the diocese of Raphoe.  Fr Martin celebrated his First Mass in his home  Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranolar, on Monday 30th June.
